So, yah, in re-reading my one and only blog on here (my "myspace" account), because of Bradley's comments -which provoked thought, I realized that it (my creativity drain) could be because I'm in a valley. Granted the drain began slightly before moving to "the Valley", which was supposed to help that state of me. However, since being in "the Valley", I still feel as though I'm in a valley. Being in a valley is usually considered a good place to be. Many great settlements have been established in valleys worldwide. Yet, here I am, in my valley, gazing upon the mountain tops, all around, and, although I *do* want to climb them, take a look around, feel grandiose even if only vicariously, reascend the heights that I once felt I'd mastered, I sit here, in a valley.
So, now the task remains the same, ascension, but not in a Christ-like fashion and hopefully before that. The task is to retrieve heights, reclaim glories, refind self, rediscover inspiration, complete the dissertation and, ultimately, move on. Forward, seems like an easily achievable destination; however, moving in a valley creates tunnel vision, narrowed scope, loss of sense, loss of self. Forward, no. Up, hopefully.
